It was simple, just help people. Nobody plans to break their glasses. And when they do, the last thing they want is to spend their paycheck getting new frames. Educating the customers and maybe helping them make better choices in the glasses they pick made me feel like I was doing some good for the community.
After many years, I am convinced that the eyewear industry wants frames to break. When that happens you are told to buy new frames (and most likely lenses). I was able to help those people who found my shop keep their glasses longer and save some money. But circumstances have changed and the building my shop was in became to expensive. I

I was able to help those people who found my shop keep their glasses longer and save some money. But circumstances have changed and the building my shop was in became to expensive. I refuse to overcharge customers and couldn't justify paying 3 times as much to keep my little shop open. So now we will continue, albeit by mail only.
I will miss seeing my customers and the smile on their faces when they had their repaired glasses handed back to them. I will continue to try my best but I realize it will not be the same.
As long as there are customers who want repairs, and I am able, I will continue to offer the services. I will still enjoy the conversations I have with customers but that will be done mostly by phone. Although, I would not rule out meeting at one of the local coffee shops. This way I can still see the smiles when their broken frames come

This way I can still see the smiles when their broken frames come back to life. I will add a section to the website with instructions on how to mail the glasses with the address and links for the post office. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your lives.
God Bless!
